Clark Kent gets stuck in a phone booth, makes collect call. Safe to say, that’s one of our favorite answers to the perennial ‘what’s this song about’ question. Braid has been around for 20 non-consecutive years, at home as one the weirder, most compelling acts from the emo/post-punk/whatever heyday of the 1990s. They called it quits in 1999, reunited for a one-and-done tour in 2004 and are thankfully back in action (albeit part-time action) these days. Today, frontman Bob Nanna talks Braid’s on again/off again career and dusts off “Collect From Clark Kent” for a live performance at the Grog Shop in Cleveland, OH.
